    Selected Accomplishments

    · Organized Geological and Geophysical data for a large land owner in South Louisiana and managed their data room. Data consists of 3 3D seismic surveys and nearly 300 wells with logs and well files. Performed field studies and developed over 40 prospects on their data.

    · Mapped four fields in the onshore of China for a major independent. Tied 6000 km of seismic to 20+ synthetic traces and balanced phase, time, and amplitude at the line intersections. Made technical presentations to the Chinese National Oil Company and the Sichuan Petroleum Corporation. Negotiated the purchase of 6000 km of seismic data. Supervised data reprocessing for AVO attributes. Converted time to depth using proprietary LinFaust technique.

    · Mapped a field offshore Trinidad for a major independent. Integrated 8 wells and 6 horizons into a detailed field study. Used a proprietary Linfaust depth conversion method which had a significant effect on reserves computed.

    · Participated as an integrated team member to map HI-A573 field for a field study in a 6 block (54 sq mi) area characterized by large horizontal velocity gradients; used Sattlegger software to map, depth convert, and model the prospects.

    · Served on an integrated exploitation team assigned to produce a field study of the Matagorda 623 field; produced field wide maps on 10 horizons, resulting in 13 new prospects. Used LINFAUST depth conversions which had a significant effect on the maps.

    · Designed and wrote velocity analysis and reflection statics programs, and designed a velocity data base implemented company wide. Moved that database to the work station environment and updated functionality for AMOCO.

    · Developed a simple and effective method of calibrating stacking velocities to check shot surveys, for use in time to depth conversion. The method has been applied world wide and is available as a technical service.

    · Supervised seismic data processing for lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico, and developed new processing flows that greatly improved results. Trained approximately 50 new geophysicists in both data processing and structural mapping.

    · Supervised Seismic Stratigraphy and regional mapping groups in the Gulf of Mexico using 15 interpreters. The initial regional mapping of salt and Sub Salt prospects in the Gulf of Mexico was completed as a project.

    · Successfully initiated and completed the first AMOCO Sub Salt play in the Gulf of Mexico including modeling, and map migrations. Used Johannes Satlegger's ISP003 map migration program to successfully migrate and depth convert a sub salt time interpretation.

    · Planned, acquired, processed and mapped seismic in Zone I play - Louisiana Delta which resulted in subsequent acreage acquisition and a seismic discovery drilled. Designed and supervised data acquisition and processing to solve the severe noise and static problems.

    · Authored two US Patents on methods of acquiring 2-D and 3-D Seismic which allow Geophysicists to design data acquisition schemes that have robust static correction solutions.

    · Evaluated Sierra's RAYMAP and SIVA programs for use in Sub Salt and other velocity problem areas.

    · As operations geophysicist on a drilling wildcat, unmigrated and remigrated maps using updated velocities from the drilling well and the ISP003 map migration program. As a result, recommended an expensive well steering program to save the objective from being faulted out.

    · Conducted extensive "Advanced Velocity Analysis and Depth Conversion" training at Corporate Training Center biannually for 3 years.

    · Supervised the design and implementation of a Petrophysical Rock Properties data base and software that provided insight to interpreters evaluating Amplitudes and AVO throughout the Gulf of Mexico.

    · Participated in an evaluation of a research "migration before stack" software. As a result of the evaluation, extensive changes were made.

    · Developed a series of lectures and presentations to enhance technology training for managers and Exploration training for researchers.

    · Developed and implemented a Geoscience Data model appropriate for field studies using IBI Focus data base and report writing software.

    · Designed exhaustive field tests, which lead to improved seismic quality in the Florida Panhandle.

    · Received several awards recognizing exceptional achievements.

    · Interpreted a Wilcox prospect for a small Independent and depth converted with a strong velocity gradient that turned the direction of dip around in going from time to depth. The results created a prospect that was not visible on the seismic time map.

    · Designed, implemented and installed a corporate velocity data base and processing system for Amoco.

    · Presented papers on velocity, anisotropy and depth conversion at National OTC and SEG conventions.

    · Authored the first corporate velocity analysis program for AMOCO and co-authored the first corporate reflection statics program.
